Former Arsenal forward Gervinho quite clearly has a high opinion of himself after seeing a prospective move to Al Jazira fall through because he asked for a helicopter and a private beach alongside his wage demands, according to the Metro.
The Ivory Coast international was due to complete a £9.2m move to the United Arab Emirates, but the deal fell through after the club called his demands “obscene”.
The report was broken by Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, and claimed that alongside his request for a helicopter and a private beach, he also requested a series of plane tickets to the Ivory Coast for his family.
The 28-year-old is now being called back by Roma to report for pre-season training, where he will no doubt be forced to give his negotiating strategy some serious consideration.
Gervinho has, however, gone some way to rebuilding his reputation in the Italian capital, notching up 19 goals in 71 appearances.
