Flop Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has arrived in Istanbul to undertake a medical and seal a deal to sign for Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The Germany World Cup winner has been on the verge of departing the north London club for months, having departed for Inter Milan on loan during second half of last season.
Inter had the opportunity to make the deal permanent, but manager Roberto Mancini opted against it, instead deciding to use his funds on other targets.
In recent weeks, Podolski, who still pleaded with Arsene Wenger to lower his asking price to allow him to leave to rebuild his career elsewhere.
Having already been told that he has no future at Arsenal, Podolski wants to make sure that he’s not held hostage by an asking price that’s too high.
And it now appears as though he has been allowed to venture to Turkey to meet with Galatasaray officials to put the finishing touches on a move.
