Arsenal star Jack Wilshere is reportedly considering the possibility of making a switch to their Premier League rivals Manchester City this summer.
The Independent had previously reported that the Citizens were contemplating making a £40m bid for the 23-year-old as Manuel Pellegrini tries to bring some youth into his ageing squad.
And it appears that news of their interest has led to the England international evaluating his future, the Daily Star report.
His injury struggles last term allowed Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and Aaron Ramsey to form a formidable attacking trio that sat just behind the lone striker. And they were perfectly complemented by the slightly deeper duo of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla. While upon Wilshere’s return in the latter stages of the season he was used frequently, it remains to be seen whether he will still feature in Arsene Wenger’s plans as often as he would like during the next campaign, or whether the Frenchman will stick with the established quintet.
However, the Gunners are prepared to make the midfielder an astronomical contract offer that would see Wilshere double his money (via Daily Mirror), which may provide an indication as to how highly-rated he remains at the Emirates.
