Liverpool have reportedly identified either Lucas Ocampos or Yevhen Konoplyanka to take over from Raheem Sterling should he make an exit from the club this summer, according to the Daily
The England international has been the subject of a £40m bid from Manchester City this week, while champions Chelsea are also said to be keeping an eye on the situation.
Sterling has rejected a new offer to extend his stay at Anfield, but Brendan Rodgers is hoping to receive a £50m fee before he considers letting him go.
And The Telegraph is reporting that Rodgers is already planning for life without the controversial 20-year-old and has targeted two possible replacements for the wantaway England star.
It’s believed that his top choice is Monaco’s Lucas Ocampos, who has just spent a successful season on loan with Marseille.
The Reds apparently tried to sign him back in 2011, but missed out to the French giants, who are now open to selling as they look to clear their books ahead of the new campaign.
And failing that, Rodgers is still keeping an eye on Konoplyanka, who is set to leave Dnipro on a free transfer at the end of the month.
