Liverpool fans seemed, by and large, decidedly nonplussed when they made the announcement that Burnley striker Danny Ings would be joining the club this summer.

Chelsea set to miss out on Belgian star
Despite outscoring every member of Liverpool’s front line last term, his low stature in the world game failed to get many excited. However, following Wednesday night’s poor performance with the England Under-21s, he has done himself no favours at getting them back onside.
Gareth Southgate’s young Lions crashed out of the U21 European Championships with a 3-1 defeat to Italy, despite containing such established stars like Harry Kane, John Stones, and Ings himself.
With the score at 0-0, Ings had a wonderful chance to give England the lead, but spurned the chance wide when it might have been easier to actually hit the target.
And watching Reds fans can’t have helped to notice and quickly took to Twitter to express their worries about the prospect of him leading their line next term.
Poor effort from Ings for the England U21's.

Danny Ings is not good enough to play for Liverpool. Him playing alongside coutinho and Sturridge just no #EnglandU21s

Ings' fault this. Can't miss all season for Burnley. Signs for Liverpool and misses sitters left, right and centre.
