Liverpool are said to be closing in on the signature of teenage Dutch winger Bobby Adekanye, having beaten off competition from the likes of PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, the Daily
The 16-year-old joined up with Barcelona back in 2011, but have had to let him go as they were unable to register him with FIFA after they deemed his signing as illegal.
He spent the 2014/15 season on loan with PSV, but now that Barcelona have released him Liverpool are believed to be in pole position to land his signature.
The Reds will only need to pay a small compensation fee, which Rodgers will happily pay after seeing him display his skilful abilities and quick pace at the Algarve Cup back in February.
Brendan Rodgers has already made six signings this summer, bring in the likes of James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan. Joe Gomez and £29milllion Brazilian Roberto Firmino.
And as well as Adekanye, Liverpool could also finalise the signing of Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne.
