Liverpool could sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for as little as £10.9m, should the Swede decide that he wishes to enjoy the twilight of his career at Anfield.

According to the Metro, the 33-year-old is looking to leave the French capital after three years with the Ligue 1 champions, and could be available for the bargain price.
The news is likely to be music to Brendan Rodgers’ ears. The Northern Irishman is in desperate need of making the kind of signings – especially up front – that are to restore some confidence in his managerial abilities, after a tough year on Merseyside.
The Daily Mail previously reported that the inquiry into their abject season would not involve reviewing Rodgers’ role, however that stance could be reconsidered should the Reds begin next year slowly.
Signing a star like Ibrahimovic is likely to provide a good feeling around Anfield that has been missing since Luis Suarez departed for Barcelona. He has played for a cluster of the top sides around Europe, and has boasted a very impressive goalscoring record at each one.
For the reported fee required, the risk of signing an enigma like Ibrahimovic diminishes almost completely, and makes bringing him in the biggest no-brainer of the summer.
