Liverpool could be set to make a move to bring Carlos Tevez back to the Premier League after reports in Italy claimed he told Juventus that he wants to leave the club this summer.
The former Manchester City and Manchester United star has been linked with a move back to the English top flight recently, with Liverpool in the driving seat, according to the Daily Express.
However, Brendan Rodgers may have to contend with the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Atletico Madrid, who are both also believed to be heavily interested in taking him off Juve’s hands.
Max Allegri has already moved to bring in Paulo Dybala from Palermo, and is believed to have raids in place for either PSG’s Edinson Cavani or Napoli hit man Gonzalo Higuain in place should Tevez move on.
Tevez has also expressed a desire to return home to Argentina to see out the remainder of his career with former club Boca Juniors, something that club president Daniel Angelici has said he would love to happen.
“The return of Tevez from Juventus depends entirely on his own will,” said Angelici.
“The doors of the club are open. It would be a dream, but we’ll have to see if it’s one that can be realised.
“It depends more on the player than the club. We will call Carlos to check and start talking.”
