Liverpool are apparently lining up a £17m move for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko this summer, according to the Metro.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to make a number of changes to his midfield, and are reported to have been consistently impressed by the performances of the France international.
A more defensively minded midfield player, Sissoko frequently displays his attacking chops by bursting forward to provide a more quantifiable goal threat, and Rodgers feels he would add some considerable weight to an area that is particularly light at the moment.
Billed as one of the finer midfielders in the top flight, many feel that he should be setting his stall out higher than Newcastle, and is therefore being tipped to move on at some point during the transfer window.
And Italian site Tuttomercatoweb believes that an offer in the region of £17.1m could be enough to tempt to Magpies to sell, as they look to rebuild their own squad.
