Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee with Charlton starlet Joe Gomez after triggering his release clause with the South London club, according to the Metro.
The Championship youngster impressed for the Addicks last term, and has since attracted the interest of Arsenal and Manchester City this summer, as well as the Reds.
But it now appears that the Reds have won the race to snap him up after they met his release clause fee of just £3.5m.
He will now travel up to Merseyside to undergo a medical, and could put pen-to-paper on a contract with the Reds as early as Friday.
The 18-year-old is being tipped for a bright future in the game, having made 24 appearances across all competitions last term.
He is an accomplished international a youth level, having already turned out for under-16s, under-17s and the under-19s, and it can’t be long before he turns out for the under21s.
