Liverpool are apparently ready to rekindle their interest in Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne, according to the Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers’ men saw a £10m offer for the England international knocked back last month, but the Reds are now ready to make an improved offer to prize him away from St Mary’s.
Despite having just one year left on his current deal, the Saints are adamant that they will not let the player leave for less than £15m. And while publicly the club are hoping he will commit his future by signing a new contract, they have resigned themselves to losing him in private.
With Glen Johnson leaving Anfield on a free transfer this month, Liverpool are turning to the 24-year-old as the ideal man to fill their now vacant right-back position.
Clyne joined Southampton back in 2012, and has gone on to make 104 appearances for the club, working his way up to becoming an England international in the process.
