Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add some more fire power to his forward line this summer, after a disappointing campaign saw the club miss out on Champions League qualification once again.

Also, having lost Luis Suarez last summer, striker Mario Balotelli has failed to impress in his place, and fellow frontman Daniel Sturridge has been forced to miss most of the campaign through various injuries.

Cheryshev, 24, had been snapped up by Real when he was just 11-years-old. He has progressed through the ranks of their youth system, making over 100 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla, scoring 22 goals in the process.

However, his chances of breaking into the first team have looked bleak, having spent the past two seasons with Sevilla and Villarreal, respectively.

According to Spanish website AS.com, the Russian wide man could be made available for as little as £10.8m this summer.
