It appears that despite spearheading an attack that came so close to clinching the treble, Juventus are now willing to let Carlos Tevez leave the club this summer.
Liverpool News and Goals
The 31-year-old has spent two years at Juventus Stadium, and while his first season was successful – as the Old Lady clinched their third straight Scudetto – his second year was one of the best in the club’s history. They added another league title, sealed their first Coppa Italia for two decades, and were only denied a third trophy of the year when Barcelona defeated them in the Champions League final.
Despite his 28 goals in all competitions, the Argentinian will be allowed to leave Juventus Stadium for as little as £15m, according to the Metro.
That will be of interest to Liverpool, who the Metro suggest are keen on the former West Ham and Manchester United forward as they look to bolster their attacking options. Brendan Rodgers has failed to find someone to replace Luis Suarez, and while it may prove difficult to persuade Tevez to come to Anfield, especially as Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid – who can both offer Champions League football next season – are interested, according to the Metro, there is little question that he has the ability to lead the line in a way that Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert, and Fabio Borini have failed to this season.
And while there doesn’t appear to be any favourites for his signature just yet, the fact that Juventus want Atleti’s Mario Mandzukic may prove a crucial factor to any potential deal. The Sun reported yesterday that the Italian giants have spoken to representatives of the Croatian about a possible move.
