Lyon’s prized forward Nabil Fekir has opened up on the recent speculation linking him with a £25m
The Daily Express have reported that the France international has no intentions of leaving OL during the current transfer market, handing a blow to Arsene Wenger’s hopes of signing him in the process.
Liverpool had also been interested, but they too will be forced to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Lyon had slapped a £25m asking price on his head, but instead of cashing in, they were hoping to keep hold of him now that they’re set to make an eagerly awaited return to the Champions League next season.
“There is so much talk of my departure but I honestly do not think that I will leave Lyon,” Fekir said.
“While in football it is said that you never know what the future holds, I will stay at Lyon regardless.”
The 21-year-old first broke into the Lyon first team during the 2013/14 season, but made only a handful of appearances. However, this year he has come into his own, notching an impressive 15 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
