The Premier League giants have been on the Argentine’s case for weeks now, with talk growing that he is set to move on from the Lisbon side this summer.

But after so much speculation, it now appears that Louis van Gaal has finally got his man, after journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed the Red Devils are putting the final touches on a deal to bring him to Manchester.

It is also believed that United will include unwanted winger Nani plus cash in a deal for the 27-year-old, and the report claims that United are hoping to send the deal through quickly.

However, having come through the ranks at neighbours Sporting Lisbon, Nani may not be instantly received by the Benfica faithful should the deal go through. He also spent last season back on loan with Sporting, but failed to make an significant impact on the title race.
