Manchester United have been given fresh hope of landing Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels after he reportedly told the German giants he wants to quit, according to the Daily

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the £36m-rated defender for some time now, amid speculation over what his future plans are.
Louis van Gaal has made no secret of his desire to bolster his defence this summer, and the 26-year-old World Cup winner is apparently the ideal man to help him do that.
And the Dutchman may now get his chance to bring him to Old Trafford after Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claimed that Hummels told the Dortmund hierarchy that he intends to leave them this summer.
AC Milan are also believed to be keen on snapping him up, as they look to undergo a facelift of their own during the transfer window, though, as yet, he has given no indication of where his future could lie.
