Manchester United are set to become the latest club to declare an interest in Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling as they look for a replacement for their own departing winger Nani, according to the Daily
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal had been on the trail of Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale, but the Welshman has declared his intention to stay in Madrid, forcing the Dutchman to move on elsewhere.
Cross city rivals Manchester City have made an offer for Sterling already this month, but saw their bid rejected by the Anfield club.
But Sterling still refuses to sign a new deal with Liverpool, and is expected to move on at some point during the transfer window, but only if an interested party can meet his £50m valuation.
Nani is being tipped to make an exit this month, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce poised to wrap up a deal for the Portugal international with a £6m bid.
Nani, who has scored 40 goals in 230 appearances for United, has been deemed surplus to requirements, and spent last season on loan with former club Sporting Lisbon.
