Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to add Juventus star Paul Pogba to his team this summer, but is already making plans should the Frenchman reject a move to the Etihad.

The Guardian believe that the Chilean will have as much as £100m available to improve the squad, as he tries to turn the Citizens back into Premier League champions after a disappointing campaign. While the club were Chelsea’s nearest rivals by the time the curtain came down on the season, their best form came when the title was already on its way back to Stamford Bridge.
And he will use the majority of the riches to try and tempt the Italian side into accepting an offer for the French playmaker. The Guardian suggest that a bid of £70m may be heading the Old Lady’s way.
While Pellegrini attempts to add some younger faces to one of the oldest squads in the Premier League, it may be difficult to persuade the former Manchester United man to come back to the city he left three years ago.
Juventus are on the verge of a historic treble, having already clinched their fourth straight Scudetto, and winning their first Coppa Italia for two decades. All that stands between them and a place in history is the daunting prospect of a Champions League final against Barcelona. Meanwhile, City failed to claim any silverware this year, and continued their uninspiring run in Europe’s premier club competition, so Pogba may view the move as a step back in his career.
Should they fail to sign the 22-year-old they may well turn their attention to Barcelona’s holding midfielder Alex Song. The ex-Arsenal man spent last season on loan at West Ham, but according to ESPN, he will not be making a permanent switch to Upton Park. Nevertheless, ESPN suggest that his days at the Nou Camp are numbered, making a possible switch to Eastlands very likely should the club wish to make it happen.
