According to The Sun, the Welsh winger has already quashed rumours of a potential move back to the Premier League, by revealing that he wishes to stay at the Bernabeu, despite enduring a difficult time in the Spanish capital recently.

“I’m a Real Madrid player and I’ll carry on as normal. I am enjoying it and hopefully I can continue to,” Bale stated.

However, Louis van Gaal is still determined to sign at least one key player from the ten time champions of Europe, and has now set his sights on the French forward, the Daily Mail report.

The Mail suggest that Los Blancos’ new manager Rafa Benitez intends to use Cristiano Ronaldo as a central striker next season, meaning that Benzema’s future with the club looks uncertain.

And rather than keep the 27-year-old on the sidelines, the Mail report that the Spanish giants will look to sacrifice the striker to boost their own transfer war chest. But, they will not let him go for less than £30m.

While the Old Trafford club have looked unconvincing almost all over the pitch at times this year – with the exception of the goalkeeper – their issues up front have been well-documented. Wayne Rooney was the side’s top goalscorer with 12 goals, despite spending much of the campaign filling in in slightly deeper roles.

And with the Daily Mail suggesting that Robin van Persie could be leaving for Juventus, and Radamel Falcao’s loan not being extended (via Daily Star), the Red Devils will look desperately thin for options unless van Gaal manages to bring some new faces in.
