Liverpool new boys Roberto Firmino and James Milner have apparently already chosen their new squad numbers ahead of the 2015/16 season, according to the Metro.
Just 24 hours after Brazil international Roberto Firmino agreed to join the Reds from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, he has opted to don the number 11 shirt once he finally links up with his new teammates.
Meanwhile, fellow recent arrival James Milner, who joined the club on a free transfer from Manchester City, has dared to take the number 7 shirt, which has been left empty ever since Luis Suarez left the club for Barcelona last summer.
The club’s first summer signing, Danny Ings, chose to stay away from the number 7 shirt, and the club’s other iconic numbers, for fear that he won’t live up to the standards of those that have wore it before.
Perhaps intelligently, he hopes to earn the right to wear it before taking them up on it.
