Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos has apparently been taking English lessons ahead of a move that could see him link up with Manchester United, and David de Gea going in the opposite direction, according to the Metro.
The Spanish World Cup winner has emerged as a surprise target for Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal in recent weeks, as he looks to take advantage of Real’s interest in de Gea.
And reports in Spanish paper AS claim that Ramos is unsatisfied enough to demand an exit from the capital after their latest contract offer fell well short of his demands. He was also unhappy at being linked with arch rivals Barcelona.
United are said to be ready to make the 29-year-old an offer that would surpass what he earns at the Santiago Bernabeu on top of a £21.4m fee with David de Gea heading the other way – ensuring the deal is worth a total of £53.5m.
United made their interest in him known to his agent and brother last April, and he is now said to be preparing for a potential move by taking English lessons.
