Chelsea close in on Abdul Baba Rahman as he wants to live in London

Chelsea are believed to be close to sealing a deal to sign young left-back Abdul Baba Rahman as he would reportedly prefer to live in London rather than Rome, according to the Metro.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Augsburg starlet several time over the past month, as Jose Mourinho searches for a replacement for flop Brazil international Felipe Luis, but as yet no deal has been done.

Italian giants Roma have also been taking him under consideration, but with Felipe Luis rumoured to be closing in on a return to Atletico Madrid this summer, the Blues are ready to make the Ghanaian an offer to bring him to the Premier League (via the Daily Mirror).

The Brazilian has failed to establish himself as a first team regular since linking up with Jose Mourinho’s men, and it now seems that Mourinho would rather ship him back to Spain and fill his position with a player capable of making it his own in the coming years.

The 21-year-old is being billed as one of the best young defenders in the world and his apparent eagerness to live in London has given Chelsea the edge over landing his signature.
