Chelsea are considering the possibility of making a bid for Lazio winger Antonio Candreva, after reports in Italy suggested that he was unhappy with the Serie A side.
According to La Repubblica – as reported in the Metro
His agent Federico Pasterello confirmed in La Repubblica (via Metro) that being made the Biancocelesti’s vice-skipper has not sat well with his client.
“It’s not a lack of respect for Biglia or other teammates. Pioli has chosen another way and Candreva has taken it badly,” he explained.
Pasterello hinted that the snub could lead to the Italy international considering his options.
“Every summer there are four or five clubs that ask for Candreva, even important clubs playing in the Champions League, but an appointment was never made with them,” he added.
With Mohamed Salah on his way to Roma (via Daily Mail), and Juan Cuadrado also linked with an exit (via Metro), the Metro suggest that Jose Mourinho is in the market for another winger, and Candreva is certainly the type of player that is likely to grab his attention.
He contributed ten goals in Serie A last season, and helped the side qualify for the play-off round of the Champions League.
Having a winger that is able to put the ball in the back of the net is especially important for a side like Chelsea, who tend to play with one lone striker.
