The report states that now the two clubs have agreed on the finances of the deal, the player is now just waiting on the go ahead to finally complete the long drawn out move back to the Spanish capital.
It goes on to explain that while United will receive €40m (£28.6m), the 24-year-old will bag himself a six-year contract €5m a year – which is €3m a year less that United were willing to pay him.
The news will likely speed up Iker Casillas’ proposed move to Portuguese giants FC Porto, and once that is completed Real will bring de Gea to the Bernabeu as his replacement.
De Gea has excelled himself at United over recent seasons, and has now reached the point where Real have identified him as the ideal replacement for the veteran shot stopper.
