Turkish giants Fenerbahce are hopeful of being able to strike a deal with Manchester United for the signature of Robin van Persie after holding further talks with the front man on Wednesday, the Daily
Fenerbahce have made a £4.7m offer for the 31-year-old, and should he accept the deal he stands to earn a three-year deal with the option of a fourth.
But even with one-year remaining on his current contract, the Old Trafford club value him at £10m, and are insistent that a deal to sell him has not been agreed. However, he is weighing up his options as he fears being left on the periphery of the United squad again with the European Championships on the horizon.
Despite being the catalyst for United’s title victory during his first season with the club in 2013/14, injuries and a loss of form last term saw him take a backseat in Louis van Gaal’s revolution.
