A deal to sign the highly-rated 19-year-old was announced almost two weeks ago, as he had initially been sold to a third party holding company while his switch to Chelsea was arranged.

But the Blues, who also recently snapped up Kenedy’s compatriot Nathan back in May, have kept their eye on his progress and now finally look set to make their move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazil under-20 international has also attracted the attentions of Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and Wolfsburg, but Chelsea have seemingly acted the fastest to bring him on board.

But once the deal is finally announced, it seems likely that he will be sent out on loan in order to gain some valuable experience of European football.
