Liverpool have reportedly already planned for how they will spend the majority of the money they look set to receive from Manchester City for Raheem Sterling.
According to the Metro, the Reds are planning to make a stunning bid for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus. And after they received £49m for the England international, it appears they will comfortably be able to match the German’s £46m valuation (via Metro).
The Metro report that a large offer may be enough to tempt the Bundesliga side into selling their key man, despite the fact that he recently signed a new deal with the club.
It would represent a massive blow for Dortmund to lose Reus, having already lost Jurgen Klopp, who decided to step down after seven inspirational years as manager just before the end of the last campaign.
And while it may have been difficult to imagine the Reds being able to pull off a deal of this magnitude – especially as they cannot offer Champions League football for at least another year – at the start of the summer, the way they have approached this window would suggest that something could happen.
