Manchester United are said to be preparing an improved offer for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after their first bid of £20m
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is keen to wrap up a quick deal for the France international this summer before the club head off on a pre-season tour of the United States on July 13.
United will be heading Stateside in ten days time before they head to Seattle, and Van Gaal is hoping to bring him on board as soon as possible.
Chief Executive Ed Woodward has told van Gaal that the club must be competing for the Premier League title again next season, and to meet the command the Dutchman has targeted a new right-back, a new midfielder and a new striker.
So far the club have only managed to bring in Memphis Depay, and though Southampton are hopeful of selling Schneiderlin for £30m, United are confident that they can persuade the Saints to come down to £25m.
