Manchester United are said to be preparing a renewed offer for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller after allowing current striker Robin van Persie to link up with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, the Daily
The Star claims that United have told the 31-year-old Dutchman that he can go this summer, and have reportedly accepted an offer from Fenerbahce for just £4.7m.
He will now travel to Turkey this weekend to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches on a deal believed to be worth a stunning £200,000-per-week.
Though van Persie has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford since April, Louis van Gaal is aware that his side is now painfully short of firepower heading into the new season.
And that has lead the Dutchman to considering a swoop for Germany international Thomas Muller.
Bayern aren’t thought to be keen on allowing him to leave the club this summer, but the Star claim that United’s Chief Executive Ed Woodward is working hard in talking them around to a £60m sale.
Muller himself has intimated that he is flattered by United’s interest, and would consider making the move providing the Red Devils can match his current wage packet.
