Manchester United have been active in the transfer market so far this summer and as such are in the process of turning themselves in genuine title contenders once again.
With that in mind, we thought it’d be worth a quick look into how the club could well be lining up next term.
More signings are likely to be made before the season kicks off, with one or two others heading out the door, but as it stands, this is one terrifyingly good starting XI.
GK:
The club are hanging onto him by the skin of their teeth, but as it stands he will be taking up the cudgels in between the sticks once again.
LB: Daley Blind
The Dutchman displayed some fine form at left-back last term, and stands a better chance of getting regular playing time there than in the centre of midfield.
CB: Chris Smalling
The England international performs far better in the centre than he does on the right, where United have been forced to use him in the past.
CB: Phil Jones
Like Smalling, Jones has been used extensively out of position, but thanks to their current shortage of centre backs he will get a chance to impress from the heart of the back four once again.
RB: Matteo Darmian
One of the new arrivals this summer. He will be expected to make an impact straight away, but already represents an improvement on what they had there previously.
