Manchester United will make Sergio Ramos a massive contract offer, as they try to lure the defender to Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Star, the Premier League side are prepared to give the 29-year-old a five-year contract worth £39m after tax.
The Star suggest that the Spain international is keen on a move to England, and this startling offer may strengthen his desire to leave the Bernabeu even further.
Ramos is reportedly unhappy over Madrid’s inability to offer an acceptable fresh contract, the Star report.
The defender has found himself become part of the transfer saga that had previously only involved David de Gea, who is wanted by the Spanish giants.
And while United can not afford to lose their goalkeeper – after he established himself as one of the world’s best stoppers last season – Ramos may be a more important addition, given that they have former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes waiting in the background.
While United have some talented defenders, they currently lack the experience that is required if they hope to help Louis van Gaal’s side return to the summit of the top flight. Ramos has won practically everything in the game, so knows what it will take for United to end their two season trophy drought.
