Mario Balotelli’s Liverpool nightmare looks set to continue, after his desperate attempt to move away from Anfield was snubbed by his former club.
According to the Metro,
It is not difficult to understand why the 24-year-old wanted to move back to San Siro. It would have given the controversial forward the chance to work with Roberto Mancini, who was previously his manager at Manchester City. While the pair clashed at times (via Telegraph), Mancini appeared to be the boss that seemed to be able to get the best out of him.
Meanwhile, he has enjoyed nothing like the same success since his surprising move to Merseyside one year ago. In 16 Premier League matches, he only managed to hit the back of the net once. His failings – as well as those of Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert – have persuaded Brendan Rodgers to bring in Danny Ings, while the Metro report that a deal for Christian Benteke is imminent.
