Pedro tells Barcelona he WANTS to complete Manchester United move

Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their hopes of landing Barcelona winger Pedro, after the winger reportedly told his current side that he wishes to join the Premier League club.

According to the Metro, Louis van Gaal had wanted to sign the 27-year-old as a replacement for Angel Di Maria, who looks to set to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain (via BBC Sport). And their chances of sealing a deal for the attacker have been greatly enhanced following the Spaniard’s admission that he wishes to move to Old Trafford.

The Metro suggest that a deal could now be completed in the next few days.

Pedro has been unfortunate during his career that his talents have often been overshadowed by the list of star names that have graced the Nou Camp since his emergence into the first-team in 2008.

And with Lionel Messi and Neymar enjoying such irresistible form last season – as Luis Enrique’s men stormed to the treble – it seems unlikely that he will be able to enjoy a solid run in the side, unless one of the two key men suffer a substantial injury.

Despite United making several midfield signings already this summer, the competition for a place in the side is not as strong, meaning that his chances of holding down a place are much stronger, and thus, fans may finally get to see the player that Barca have tried to keep hold of for so long.
