Pep Guardiola tells Manchester City he WILL be new manager next summer, according to reports

Bayern Munich Pep Guardiola has reportedly told the Bundesliga side that he will not be renewing his contract at the Allianz Arena, as he has decided to become the next manager of Manchester City.

The Daily Express report that the former Barcelona boss has just one year left on his current deal with the Bavarian side, and does not plan to extend his stay due to a strained relationship with the club, meaning that he could move to the Etihad as early as next summer.

The speculation does not bode well for Manuel Pellegrini. The Chilean may have won the Premier League crown with the Citizens, but it appears that his efforts will not be enough to save his job. The fact that some of the City hierarchy used to work at the Nou Camp is unlikely to work in the former Real Madrid boss’ favour.

While Guardiola has enjoyed success in Germany, it is his time in Spain that City fans will be hoping he will be able reproduce with the Eastlands outfit.

Although he has won the Bundesliga twice in two seasons, it is his achievements at the Nou Camp that are the more impressive due to the competition levels in each country’s top flight.

Not only did he deliver three La Liga crowns, he also oversaw two Champions League wins.

Nevertheless, if Pellegrini is able to deliver a similar amount of success in what may well be his final season with the Premier League side, then Manchester City may face the same amount of questions that Bayern did when they ditched Jupp Heynckes for Guardiola in 2013.
