The 30-year-old is being tipped to complete his move to the Turkish giants this weekend, after he travelled to Istanbul to undertake a medical and agree personal terms.

Podolski not only cut a popular figure amongst Gunners fans because of his fun loving attitude and winning smile away from the pitch, but the stats below will highlight exactly what his absence will subtract from the team.

Since arriving from German side FK Koln back in 2012, Podolski has managed to average a goal every 148 minutes across all competitions. Considering he’s not an outright striker, this number is very respectable.

With 31 goals in 82 appearances for Arsenal, 19 of those have come in the Premier League, and given the lower standard of the Turkish league, it seems that Galatasaray are getting themselves a real asset.
