SHOTS FIRED! Schweinsteiger says he joined Man United to ‘play for a big club’

Manchester United new boy Bastian Schweinsteiger has already began to get his new fans onside by hailing the club as the biggest in the world, according to the Metro.

The World Cup winner sealed his arrival at Old Trafford in a £14m deal earlier this week (via Metro) following hot on the heels of fellow new arrivals Matteo Darmian and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Over the past decade he has starred for German giants Bayern Munich, during which time he has won virtually everything there is to win in the game, but in a parting shot to the club following comments made by the legendary Franz Beckenbauer, claiming that he is too old to be moving to United (via Daily Star) he has said that he has joined a bigger side.

“Bayern Munich is a big club, but Manchester United are bigger and I can see that,” he said.

“They are the biggest club in the world and I am sure this team has the quality to win titles. When I see what we do in training and the quality we have, I am sure we have the chance to win titles.

“I am convinced about that and I want to add my quality to United’s game.”
