Manchester United announced the signing of Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger this week, and he quickly gave his first interview as a Red Devil in absolutely perfect English.
The 30-year-old outlined what he hopes to get out of his time with the club, and is unsurprisingly targeting trophies.
However, he did commit somewhat of a faux pas by referring to himself as a k****, which he probably isn’t aware is a derogatory term for Germans in the UK. That said, he is amazingly the first German player to represent the club.
But the most refreshing thing is his command of the English language, which is perfect despite him living in Germany for his entire life. This is particularly impressive in comparison to Arsenal’ Mesut Ozil, who is still struggling after living in London for two years now.
