Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has been added to the list of goalscorers catching Slaven Bilic’s eye as he prepares for his first season as West Ham manager.

According to the Independent, the Hammers are prepared to make an £8m offer for the Mexican. However, the Independent suggest that Queens Park Rangers’ Charlie Austin, Mattia Destro of Roma, and Chelsea’s Loic Remy are also being considered as the Croatian attempts to add some more firepower to his frontline.

However, the London side are not the only ones interested in the 27-year-old, with the Independent suggesting that Wolfsburg, Roma, Besiktas, and Galatasaray are all keen.

United will be pleased to know that Hernandez is attracting so much attention. The Manchester Evening News previously reported that it was still their intention to sell the poacher despite him recently sustaining a broken collarbone. It appears that the injury has done little to deter the interested parties.

Despite boasting a cluster of forward options, West Ham’s failure to find the back of the net at times last season was the reason they slipped from the Premier League’s top four at Christmas, all the way out of the top half by the end of the campaign. Only Diafra Sakho managed double figures, while Andy Carroll only made 14 appearances in the top flight.

Hernandez has proved since his move to Old Trafford, as well as during his loan spell with Real Madrid, that he is able to be relied upon to get goals. His positioning often sees him poised in and around the six-yard box, ready to seize upon any opportunity that comes his way.
