Arsenal and Man United alerted as Mario Gotze openly criticises his manager

Arsenal and Manchester United have both been alerted after Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze sensationally criticised Pep Guardiola.

The World Cup winner has been deemed as something of a flop since his move to the Allianz Arena two years ago, and the 23-year-old appeared to suggest that his relationship with the former Barcelona boss was one of the reasons for his struggles, and a potential catalyst for a possible exit, the Daily Express report.

“It will work out if Guardiola talks to me more often. I’m going to let everything come to me. Anything beyond that, we’ll see,” he claimed.

Despite his obvious talent, the playmaker has struggled to make the kind of impact for the Bavarian side that many expected he would. Despite Bayern comfortably clinching the Bundesliga title last season, the Germany international was only able to score nine goals and bag two assists in the top flight.

Nevertheless, the strained relationship between Gotze and his manager may tempt the Gunners or United to make an ambitious bid in the hope that, despite his talent, Guardiola decides that he can no longer work with the attacking midfielder.

The clash of personalities with his boss is unlikely to detract any interested parties from his incredible amount of talent. He is comfortable playing anywhere in an attacking role, so neither side should be willing to let this opportunity pass without a bid.
