Arsene Wenger rules Alexis Sanchez out of Arsenal’s Liverpool clash

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that star forward Alexis Sanchez isn’t likely to be fit for the club’s meeting with Liverpool on Monday night, the Daily Express reports.

The Chilean international is yet to complete a full 90 minutes in either of the side’s Premier League games so far, and is still working his way towards full fitness having featured in 52 games for the club last term before heading off for a successful jaunt to this summer’s Copa America.

And though he is eager to return and play his part in the club’s early season assault on the title, but Arsene Wenger doesn’t believe he will be fit enough to take on the Reds on Monday night.

“On Monday night he will not be short of full fitness,” Wenger revealed.

“It’s surprising because when he has not got the basic fitness required, he has the mental resources to dig deep and be combative to fight. He also has the talent.”
