Aston Villa hoping to steal another of Liverpool’s targets by making bid for Keita Balde Diao

Aston Villa could prove to be the thorn in Liverpool’s side once again, as they prepare to steal another of their key targets, the Metro report.

According to the Metro, the Villans are planning a £7.8m bid for Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao, who is also attracting the attention of both the Reds and Arsenal.

Keita is reportedly unhappy with the Serie A side, and is thought to have handed in a transfer request to try and make his feelings known (via Metro).

Tim Sherwood has been alerted by the news, and appears to have decided to try and get ahead in the race before Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger even enter it.

Should they pull off a deal, it would be the second target that the Midlands club have stolen right from under Liverpool’s noses.

The Daily Express claim that Villa are closing in on a £7m deal for Barcelona attacker Adama Traore. The Reds were keen on striking a deal for the youngster, but it is their Premier League rivals that have agreed a three-year contract.
