Manchester United have become used to some special players wearing the number seven shirt down the years, but there are arguably few as famous as David Beckham.
The right-midfielder took the shirt that had previously been worn by Bryan Robson, George Best, and most recently Eric Cantona when the Frenchman prematurely ended his playing career in 1997.
And while Cristiano Ronaldo was the next to take the famous shirt following the former England captain’s departure in 2003, it was Beckham that seemed to make the number on the back of the shirt into a brand.
Even though he left Old Trafford twelve years ago, he clearly remains deeply attached to the Red Devils, having posted a picture of himself wearing their brand new home shirt, with the famous name and number on the back.
