Inter Milan plotting move for Tottenham flop Erik Lamela

Inter Milan have begun talks with Tottenham about a possible move for attacking midfielder Erik Lamela, according to the Daily Express.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is a big fan of the 23-year-old, the Express claim, but it looked as if they would have to battle Serie A champions Juventus for his signature. However, the Old Lady’s season-long loan capture of Juan Cuadrado appears to have left the path clear for the San Siro outfit to bring the former Roma man in (via Express).

The move back to Italy would allow the Argentina international to get his career back on track after a difficult couple of years at White Hart Lane. He joined the Premier League side for £25m (via Express) in the wake of Gareth Bale’ move to Real Madrid.

However, the price tag seemed to weigh too heavily on the winger, as he only managed to score two goals in 45 top flight appearances, although he did provide us with a stunning rabona goal in the Europa League.

Sadly, the moments of quality were too few and far between.
