Liverpool begin talks with Real Madrid man ahead of proposed £14.2m move

Liverpool have reportedly begun talks with Real Madrid about a possible move for winger Denis Cheryshev, according to the Metro.

The 24-year-old has been attracting interest from Arsenal this summer, but it appears that Brendan Rodgers is set to win the chase by potentially completing a £14.2m move (via Metro).

While the Russia international has yet to make much of an impact at the Bernabeu, he has established himself as a promising talent following a productive loan spell at La Liga rivals Villarreal last season.

He scored four and bagged nine assists as he helped the El Madrigal outfit comfortably qualify for the Europa League. However, given the competition already in Rafa Benitez’s squad, it seems unlikely that the year away has done much for his chances of breaking into Los Blancos’ side.

And while it has been a very busy summer already at Anfield, the Reds could perhaps do with another winger in their squad following the sale of Raheem Sterling.
