Liverpool’s £15m bid for Henrikh Mkhitaryan ACCEPTED by Borussia Dortmund

Despite enjoying a very busy summer already, Brendan Rodgers appears to not be entirely happy with his squad, after the Independent claimed that Liverpool had had a £15m bid accepted by Borussia Dortmund for midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The deal may not be done and dusted however, as Juventus are also keen on the 26-year-old, the Independent report, and may now be tempted to make a bid.

Although the attacking midfielder has been fantastic during his time at Westfalenstadion – having scored 24 goals and bagging 20 assists since his move in 2013 – there may be some Reds fans that are not so keen to see him arrive at Anfield due to the depth the side already boast in that position.

Philippe Coutinho has carried on from where he left off last season. His goal against Stoke said to Rodgers that he can be the club’s new talisman following the departure of Steven Gerrard, while new signing Roberto Firmino is waiting in the wings.

Meanwhile, there are several other players that could come in for the Brazilian pair should they both collect injuries during the campaign, which would make spending £15m on the Armenia international almost pointless, despite his obvious quality.
