Manchester United have a received a massive boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller, after the Daily
The Express report that the 25-year-old has told friends that he would consider heading to the Premier League after seeing the welcome that former teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger received following his move from the Allianz Arena.
And while manager Pep Guardiola is unlikely to get in Muller’s way if an acceptable bid comes from the Red Devils, the Bavarian side’s chief executive Karl-Heinze Rummenigge is desperate to keep the Germany forward (via Express).
The Bundesliga champions have already lost one of the stalwarts of their side to Louis van Gaal’s team during this window, and it appears unlikely that they would be happy for another to go, especially if it is to join the same club.
Nevertheless, they may feel they have little choice if United – who have had two bids already rejected (via Express) – make an incredible offer.
And following their opening games of the new campaign, you would not be surprised if van Gaal did decide to make an improved third bid. While they have won both games, they have not been convincing in front of goal, and desperately need another striker if their promising start is to flourish into a title challenge.
