Man United considering move for Real Madrid stopper as they prepare to lose THREE goalkeepers

Manchester United are lining up a move to sign Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas, as Louis van Gaal prepares to lose three goalkeepers at Old Trafford, the Metro report.

It is difficult to remember a window where one single Premier League club has appeared to promise so much change in the goalkeeper department, but the Metro suggest that the Dutchman is planning to let all three options from his first season with the Red Devils move on.

And it appears that he is actively working to see all three head through the exit during this window. Anders Lindegaard has been told he can leave for free, despite having another year on his contract (via Daily Express), Victor Valdes has seen his kit moved to the under-21 dressing room (via Daily Mail), while most surprisingly, van Gaal wants David de Gea to complete his move to the Bernabeu this summer (via Marca).

While the Dutchman has already brought in Sergio Romero during this window – and he looks safe to survive the cull – van Gaal will be hoping to bring in further reinforcements to prepare for the trio’s departure.

Should de Gea make the switch to Los Blancos, Navas – who looked set to become Rafa Benitez’s number one following Iker Casillas’ departure – may have to return to the bench where he spent much of last season. Should that be the case, the Costa Rican may choose to take a place in United’s completely new goalkeeper line-up.
