Man United ‘hours away’ from making next major summer signing (not Pedro)

Manchester United are said to be closing in on a deal to finally bring Benfica ace Nicolas Gaitan to the club and a report in the Metro claims they are just ‘hours away’ from completing the move.

United have been linked with a move for the Argentine on and off for the past two years, while recent reports claimed that he was finally closing in on a move to Old Trafford.

Though no fee has been agreed between the two clubs, sources in Spain suggest the deal could go through ‘within hours’, leaving the formalities to be taken care of last.

The Metro states that fresh contact was made be United earlier this week and that talks are progressing well, with Louis van Gaal said to be ‘in love’ with the idea of him replacing his soon to be departing compatriot, Angel Di Maria.
