Man United set to make official approach for Julian Draxler

The Metro are reporting that Manchester United are set to make an offer for highly sought after Schalke playmaker Julian Draxler.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is reportedly on the hunt for a big name signing with what’s left of the transfer window as he looks to appease the disgruntled fan base after missing out on two key targets this week.

It had been reported that the Germany international was on his way to Juventus, only for Schalke Sporting Director Horst Heldt to deny the rumours by saying: “Don’t trust the Italian media.

“We haven’t heard from Juventus for a long time, there are no negotiations. An offer was rejected before the match with Porto, the stories from Italy aren’t true.”

And with United still looking for a replacement to Angel di Maria, the news will come as a huge boost to the Red Devils after they missed out on signing Barcelona star Pedro earlier in the week.
