Manchester United boost as Galatasaray coach admits Fernando Muslera could leave

Manchester United have received a boost after Galatasaray coach Hamza Hamzaoglu confirmed that goalkeeper Fernando Muslera could leave the club this summer, the Metro report.

“If we are able to find a replacement for Muslera we may consider letting him go,” he explained.

Louis van Gaal is preparing to possibly lose David de Gea during this window, while Anders Lindegaard and Victor Valdes have both been told that they can find new clubs this summer (via Daily Mail). Should the trio all leave Old Trafford before the deadline, the Red Devils will have just Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone to call upon.

While the Argentinian was solid during the opening game of the season against Tottenham, Johnstone has yet to make any kind of impact at the highest level, having spent much of his career out on loan in the lower leagues.

By signing the 29-year-old, who was crucial in helping the Turkish side win the league title last year, van Gaal will have another international stopper available to him, which will make de Gea’s departure – should it happen this summer – much easier to deal with.
